Cabinet recommends council tax increase

Members of Surrey County Council’s Cabinet have approved a proposal to increase council tax by 3% and increase the social care precept by a further 3%. The recommendation will now be considered by Full Council on 6 February. At Tuesday’sCabinet meeting leader David Hodge highlighted that a transitional grant worth £24m over the last two years was ending although it was supposed to support councils until a fair funding regime starts, which is still two years away.
