In recent months access to SCC’s Community Recycling Centre in Epsom has been the cause of many complaints. Long queues and waits of up to 2 hours were regular occurrences, and local businesses were getting frustrated by the inability of their suppliers and customers to reach their premises. Fly-tipping campaign launch

A new Surrey Waste Partnership fly-tipping campaign launches on 1 August and runs until 30 September.The campaign urges Surrey residents and businesses to be vigilant when employing traders to dispose of their waste or risk fines of up to £400. Although a rogue trader may fly-tip the waste, whoever employs them can also be fined. Cabinet recommends council tax increase

Cabinet recommends council tax increase Members of Surrey County Council’s Cabinet have approved a proposal to increase council tax by 3% and increase the social care precept by a further 3%. The recommendation will now be considered by Full Council on 6 February. Surrey Waste Local Plan

Surrey Waste Local Plan Time is running out for residents to have their say on the draft Surrey Waste Local Plan. The plan includes the objectives, policies and proposed sites intended to guide the future of waste management facilities in the county until 2033. Community recycling centre service changes due

The first set of changes to Surrey County Council’s community recycling centre (CRC) service will be made next week. From Monday 4 December 2017 there will be no free daily allowance of chargeable non-household waste such as rubble, plasterboard and soil. Additionally, residents of Bracknell Forest and Wokingham will no longer be able to use Camberley CRC. Further changes will take place on Monday 8 January 2018.
